Stunna Week(end): Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paints

Hey Beautiful!

How is February treating you? The weather has been up and down here in NYC, but that hasn’t stopped me from exploring. And I’m certainly happy to be back with post #4! On to the review…

Back in October, Fenty Beauty shook the beauty community by releasing four Stunna Lip Paints during its Stunna Week. I got caught up in the hysteria, and purchased three shades for $24 each from Fenty Beauty’s website as they were released. I chose Unbutton, Uncuffed, and Unveil. To be honest, had they released all the shades at once, I doubt I would have purchased so many. But that’s smart marketing; Fenty made me fall in love with each separately. Luckily, shipping was free, so my wallet was somewhat spared. Yes, I’ve had these Stunna Lip Paints for a few months and yes, I’m just now posting a review. Clearly, I’ve taken my time to get to know the products before giving my opinion.

Unbutton

Unbutton is a peachy nude. Of the new Stunna Lip Paints, it is the shade I reach for the most. However, it’s cartoonishly bright alone and I definitely have to work with it. If you have a dark skin tone, a brown lip liner is absolutely necessary.

On the left is a lip swatch of Unbutton. It’s very bright. On the right is Unbotton paired with MAC’s Lip Pencil in Chestnut and the Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow. Talk about gorgeous.

Uncuffed

Uncuffed is a rosy mauve. I think its lovely and would look beautiful on any skin tone. It’s great alone, but I like to pair it with a lip liner for added definition.

Unveil

I’m obsessed with Unveil. It is a chocolate brown, but slightly darker than my skin tone so it still looks like I’m wearing a lipstick. Before getting Unveil, I was not fond of brown nudes, but this just might be The One.

This is a lip swatch of Unveil. Notice I didn’t post a picture of Unveil paired with a lip liner? That’s because no liner is needed, it’s perfect as is.

Final Thoughts

I already owned the first Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored and I like the comfortable matte finish. Each shade is opaque and applies well, but I’m not a fan of the applicator’s shape. It’s very small. I’m still a fan of Uncuffed, Unbutton, and Unveil after all these months. That said, the shades are fairly common among nude lipsticks, stains, and glosses. And $24 is pricey for 0.13 oz of product. I’m sure dupes can be found at lower price points, but if you are looking to splurge, I highly recommend the Stunna Lip Paints.
