Cooking with Tracy

Hey Beautiful!

So I learned to bake in my 7th grade home economics class. The first recipe I perfected was for oatmeal cookies. It was so simple, but so good. After that, I baked all the time. I spent several early mornings baking at 5 AM before catching the school bus so I could share treats with my classmates.

For the most part, I stopped baking in college and grad school. I don’t really have a reason for it. Maybe I was busy or lacked the proper utensils.

Anyway, I started a new job a while ago and I’d be lying if I said it isn’t stressful. To relieve the stress, I went back to the thing that once brought me so much joy. I started baking again.

I’ve also been cooking savory dishes because you can’t survive on sugar alone (sadly). And I must say, I’m really good at this. I’ve made General Tso’s chicken, lasagna, brownies, blondies, BBQ ribs, honey wings, chocolate cake, gnocchi, sausage and peppers, chicken fajitas, and a rum cake just to name a few things. Yes, I take immense pride in saying that I kill it in the kitchen.

For now, I’ve been having 1-2 friends over for dinner, but I’d love to throw a big dinner party. Maybe when I get a more spacious apartment or when COVID is better controlled, whichever comes first.

I posted some pics of food I’ve made below. Feel free to leave a comment with your favorite recipe. I’d love to give it a try.
